I design Vita Canis natural pet care products for dogs because I love them, live with them, and work with them. But I love all animals. Therefore it’s nice to see my natural pet care products are finding their way to helping other animals.
As you can see on the labels, the products are suitable for all large animals, like horses, donkeys, sheep… and Calm Cat and Soothing Antiseptic Spray are suitable for small animals, as they don’t contain essential oils.
Cathy Hicklin works with horses at The Chatsworth House, and in May, she sent me this message:
‘ It’s getting to that time of the year again when the flies are out. Working with horses, the flies around both the horse and me are just awful at times. Thanks to the amazing Insect Repelling Spray, it’s no longer a case. There are many fly sprays for horses out there that I do use, but I think a horse’s face is just too precious to put something you don’t fully trust on. I use Vita Canis Insect Repelling Spray around the eyes and face, and the results are always great. If there was a gigger bottle I would use it all over! I also spray it over myself, especially before ridding, and it really does work like a treat. I fully recommended it, and so do the horses!’

‘Meet Squigeon the Pigeon…
A member of the public found Squigeon hiding amongst some bins at a taxi rank in a town centre. This kind person picked him up and brought him to us at South Devon Bat Care. He had deep wounds to his wings and body, possibly from being attacked by a cat. He received daily pain relief and antibiotics, and his wounds were gently cleaned twice a day with Vita Canis Soothing Antiseptic Spray. His treatment worked wonders, and his wounds healed quickly.
Unfortunately, Squigeon never flew strongly enough to be released back into the wild safely, which may be why the cat caught him in the first place. So he now lives with us and has a happy life as our resident pigeon. He has made friends with our chickens and often pops into the house to explore and watch the telly!! I chose to use the Vita Canis Soothing Antiseptic Spray as it is made from all-natural ingredients and is not tested on animals. I have used it with success on various animals from bats, rats, dogs, and cats.’
