Do dogs get toothache?
Our dogs are tough cookies! So many times, they don’t show their pain.
In the wild, pain acknowledgment means vulnerability to predators. It’s not always obvious your dog has a toothache. But you may notice behavioral changes, chewing issues, and drooling.
It is estimated that by the time dogs are two years old, 80% of them begin to show signs of oral disease.
Preventing teeth and gum diseases should be a part of our routine canine care… But how many of us brush our dogs’ teeth daily?
Ideally, daily teeth brushing, just like ours, would minimise bacteria and their by-products. And help our dogs maintain a healthy mouth.
Feeding good quality dog food, in my opinion raw, and giving our dogs tooth-friendly toys and treats helps enormously.
I didn’t clean my dogs’ teeth daily… I always relied on raw food, chews, etc.
However, how my dogs were aging, I realised I needed to do something. I could see the appearance of yellow plaque. And also, my Airedale Richard, by the time he was less than two years old and raw fed, had some build-up of tartar.
I came across Emmi Pet teeth cleaning system about three years ago. I purchased the Emmi Pet for the grooming salon, as I thought it would be a beneficial service to offer to our clients. Then I went to a Emmi Pet seminar organised by Joanne Angus from Look North to learn how to use it properly.
So how does it work?
The Emmi-Pet teeth cleaning system is non-invasive and effective. It will benefit the dog’s teeth and their health in general, as unhealthy teeth and gums will affect the dog’s whole body. It enables you to keep your own dog’s teeth and gums healthy.
Ultrasound reaches deep below the gum line to kill germs and bacteria and cleans the teeth and gums to prevent the build-up of plaque and tartar. At the same time, it increases the blood flow to the gums to heal wounds and stop bleeding.
The Emmi-Pet effectively combats:
- Gingivitis and periodontitis
- Oral cavity diseases
- Plaque and tartar build-up
- Bad breath
And The Emmi-pet toothbrush is vibration-free and no brushing is necessary.
If you found the information helpful, you can buy the Emmi Pet brush for your dog, but if you don’t want to invest that much, ask your dog groomer if he/she offers the teeth cleaning service.
If you are local to me, I’m happy to do it for your dog.
