Have you heard of Dechox?
It is a nationwide sponsored challenge to give up chocolate for the whole of March for 31 days and raise money for lifesaving heart research. British Heart Foundation organises it, and this charity is very close to my heart.
There are a few options to choose from:
Chocoholics for Change is for those who want to quit all things chocolate.
Sweet-Toothed Supporters will take it a step further and give up chocolate and biscuits.
Leader of the Snack Pack will give up chocolate, biscuits, and cakes.
Do I join Dechox, or will I get cold feet as always?
I really need some kick-start! The last two years didn’t help my health and my fitness is completely out of the window. We have to start with small changes which might progress to long-term habits.
I am a “Chocoholic”, and I don’t say it proudly as I consider myself addicted to all things chocolate. I will go for the whole bar in one go, and I will hide chocolate. Lie about chocolate, and think about chocolate most of the time.
I made the decision! I will join this year’s Dechoxers to prove that I can do it. And I’m doing this as part of my self-care. Only “you” my Vita Canis & Jitka family, will know about it, as I am not telling my family, only after the challenge has ended.
And I am not going to do it on my own. Jitka & John (?) have also decided to join in. We are mega excited about it! Yipeeee. It will be so much easier to do it with somebody and fully support each other. We promised to tackle just one day at a time. It won’t be easy, but it’s doable. I am going for the Chocoholics for Change option, and Jitka is taking it further and will do the Leader of the Snack Pack option.
For each day in March, I manage to be without chocolate, I will give £1 to Vita Canis Style to Rescue and £1 to British Heart Foundation. This way I might get more motivated. Fingers crossed.
Jitka is donating £2 per successful day towards Style to Rescue.
We need to check with John if he is still in it with us.
Does anybody else fancy joining us for this challenge?
Everybody is welcome. If you are thinking of doing it, just go for it—more, the merrier.
I will be keeping a diary on my daily struggles and keep you informed. Please do the same. I would love to hear from you.
